Oregon Hop Commission
Long-time client, the Oregon Hop Commission, has brought us on to tell the story of hop production in Oregon, specifically the Willamette Valley. By capturing work at key points in the year, we’ve been able to tell much of the story of small, hop farmers in Oregon.
As winter in the valley fades away, hop farms begin to wake up.
Willamette Valley Hop growers have a strong connection to their environments and each other. It is a small community of growers who watch over their crops for multiple generations.
Great care is taken throughout the entire spring, to provide the best environment for these plants to grow into beautiful cones in the late summer. These hops will be used in some fantastic beers across the country and around the world.
Hop harvest in Oregon’s Willamette Valley is a family affair. Oregon farmers have taken to the fields for the month of harvest, rotating shifts, schedules, and fields to make sure each hop variety is harvested at the correct time.
We Grow Your Beer Competition
In celebration of harvest, The Oregon Hop Commission hosts a tailgate event at Oregon State University. The event pits hop growers and brewers against each other in a friendly brewing competition. We have captured the brewing process for these beers to help promote this event.
